Description: Have you ever stopped to think about how you think? Through what lens do you see the world? I will share my project on Implicit Bias that I completed for a parent advocacy training cohort that I was a part of recently called Parents Who Lead. Together, we will walk through what implicit bias is, how it impacts us on a daily basis and steps we can take to reduce the impact of bias in our interactions.
Learning Objectives: At the end of the session the audience will:
- Understanding what Implicit Bias is;
- How Implicit Bias impacts our daily interactions; and
- What can we do about it.
CLM Approved Credits:
- CLM® Application Credit: 1 hour in the category of Organizational Development
- CLM® Recertification Credit: 1 hour in the subject area of Communication and Organizational Management (CM)
Whitney Touchton has lived in Jacksonville all her adult life but grew up living all over the world as the daughter of a military dad. She has been married to her husband, Chris, for 24 years and they have 3 children. Whitney is involved in anti-racism education and equity advocacy through various non-profit organizations.
