Description:  Have you ever stopped to think about how you think?  Through what lens do you see the world?  I will share my project on Implicit Bias that I completed for a parent advocacy training cohort that I was a part of recently called Parents Who Lead.  Together, we will walk through what implicit bias is, how it impacts us on a daily basis and steps we can take to reduce the impact of bias in our interactions.

Learning Objectives: At the end of the session the audience will:

  • Understanding what Implicit Bias is;
  • How Implicit Bias impacts our daily interactions; and
  • What can we do about it.

Speaker Information:

Whitney Touchton

Whitney Touchton has lived in Jacksonville all her adult life but grew up living all over the world as the daughter of a military dad.  She has been married to her husband, Chris, for 24 years and they have 3 children.  Whitney is involved in anti-racism education and equity advocacy through various non-profit organizations.  The beach, family game night and traveling are Whitney’s happy places!  She is passionate about moving this world towards equity and justice….one conversation at a time.   Contact her at: [email protected]
